Shred

Performed by "Fourtissimo" at my last Peabody Composition Department recital on 5/11/17.

Shred is a piece that integrates some of my more peripheral influences such as metal and minimalism. The juxtaposition between head-banging metal riffs and canonically overlapping pulsations give the piece a palpable verve. The metal riffs get torn to pieces, and the rhythmic pulsations get distorted and mangled. This piece was written for the group "Fourtissimo", which is also the primary dynamic marking for the piece.
